Overview of Academics
- TABE Foundations- The Reading/ Math Foundations (TABE) classes provide basic skills instruction and critical thinking skills to prepare students for GED preparation, postsecondary education, and employment.
- Career Readiness (WorkKeys)- The Career Readiness classes are designed for individuals who desire to enhance their marketability. The Career Readiness program includes courses in WorkKeys- Work Place Documents, Applied Math, and Graphic Literacy.
- Pre- GED/ GED-The GED classes are designed for students who are working toward the GED examination. These students receive intensive academic remediation in Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science in preparation for the four-part GED examination. Once GED students make academic gains as evidenced via TABE testing, students are encouraged to take the Practice GED exam, also known as the GED Ready, which indicates the potential level of readiness for the actual GED exam.
- High School Diploma- The High School Diploma Program is designed for students who enter Adult Education in need of four or less credits to complete high school diploma. All high school course offerings are offered through SC approved Virtual Online Programs.
- Literacy- The Literacy program is designed to meet the needs of the adult non-reader or low level reader. The goals of the literacy program are to give every citizen an opportunity to learn to read or to become a better reader and to make reading an integral part of the total community.
